Computer room and computer support group

computerThe Katoomba Men's Shed has a well equipped computer facility and provides an ongoing support program for members wanting to improve their skills with computer technology.

The facilities include:

  • A number of computers that are available to members while the Shed is operating.
  • High-speed broadband connection.
  • Internal wifi network available for member's private devices.
  • Tablet and laptop computers.
  • Data projector used for presentations, videos, movies and training.
  • Multifunction printer (contribution requested for private printing).
  • 3D printer.

The computers are all based on the Windows operating system, but the computer group also has extensive experience in linux.

The computer support groups meets informally at the Shed on Friday mornings, between 9 and 12. There is usually at least one member present who can help novice users with problems.

More structured training courses are offerred from time to time, but depend on sufficient members committing to attend the course.
